The Fourth Wall

Architecture. Final First Year project at SAC.

2012 - 2013

Based on the research on, and serving as a continuation of the two ‘Endless Interior’ houses, the “Fourth Wall’ house is an attempt to address and radicalize the inside-outside architectural dichotomy by playing on the subtleties and invisible connections that arise when the programmatic and spatial specificities of a theater space are tested in a domestic setting.

The Fourth Wall House

Inspired by Sou Fujimoto’s ‘N House’, the ‘Fourth Wall’ house explores the notion of a house-as-wall by exploring the notions of exposure and visibility as gradients of inhabitation and positing the curation of lifestyle (understood as self-exposure) as the (possibly) only still relevant domestic program.
